Forgive me for my late reply. Catherine and I spent a lovely evening with you and Sophie on Saturday evening. The dinner was wonderful. Thank you also for the information you provided about Paris. It was all very helpful. Good luck with your future endeavours and again thanks.
Theresa, Toronto, Canada May 2013
Good Morning, Martine! Mark and I are both back at work this morning, sadly without our morning tartines and café crèmes. What a wonderful week it was-we can’t thank you
enough. Really, dinner with you on Saturday night was the very best part-not only was your food spectacular, but the conversation was a pure pleasure! It has taken its place in our
top favorite dinners of all time (what kind of people keep such a list?!) Thank you also for sending the picture, I was regretting on the flights home yesterday that I didn’t have some
pictures to remember the evening . Mark’s forgotten clothing definitely represent a subconscious wish to return! We made it home safely, and all was well at home. Thank you for
everything, we are already plotting our return!
It was a true pleasure meeting you. Paris, like the few very special things in life, was better than we remembered. The people, the fashions, the food, and the joie de vivre are unsurpassed. What made it even better was meeting you and having such a wonderful dinner together. The evening was the highlight of our trip; filled with great food and conversation.
Have a nice spring, à la prochaine,
Carolyn and Marc, Idaho USA April 2013
We arrived safely home, our heads full of Paris, art, music, new friends and our stomachs full of wonderful French food, most of it from you! Thank you for our heavenly holiday. We loved the flat, how cozy and comfortable it was and how central. It was a perfect hideout from the cold and the busyness of the city. We both feel restored and ready to face the world again.

"Because of health issues we have had to cancel our much-anticipated trip to Paris and our stay in Martine's apartment (in June 2013)
It was no surprise that Martine was understanding and very accommodating of our situation because she had already set a very high standard with her frequent and very welcoming communication.
At a time when we are having to adjust to a few changes in our lives we are warmed by the compassion and support Martine has shown
We wish her well and hope to return to beautiful Paris soon"
Our thanks and very kind regards
Stephen and Jilly (Sydney, Australia) February 2013
Let me please answer your very kind comment : First of all, of course I am sorry about this health situation and I know you are sincere. You booked a year ahead and could not know Jilly would need a surgery in between. You were able to tell me a way ahead (Febuary for June).
You were very polite and you sent the medical certificate.
So I don't know how I could have refused such justified cancelation.
But there are rules and relationship. Dealing with this issue when the guests are so kind and respectful, I could not say it is a pleasure to receive a cancelation, but it makes it easy.
Now I wish Jilly to go through this surgery as smoothly as possible, to get a new hip and come to Paris soon being able to stroll the beautiful streets and artful museums. It will be a treat for me to meet you for real.
My very best regards,
Martine, Thank you for your lovely email!!!!...yes I am home safely and now after a week feeling a lot better... I had a wonderful time and thank you so much for your hospitality... You certainly made my stay in Paris wonderful...Will certainly keep in touch.. and look forward to hopefully visiting you agsin very soon.. Take care and thank you so much for everything.. I really appreciate all you did for me..

Thank you ever so much for the use of your lovely apartment and also for being so helpful with your advice. We had a marvellous week in Paris and, of course, the fine weather was a great bonus.
Our trip home went smoothly. This was my first experience of Eurostar and it was very positive both going and returning. However Gare du Nord is rather tatty compared to St Pancras station! Perhaps this reflects the relative importance of Europe to Great Britain and vice versa?
We would like to return to Paris, but maybe not for 2 or 3 years, as we have so many plans for travelling both in the UK and abroad. We hope your apartment will be available when we decide to next visit Paris.
We have told our friends about your apartment and we will write a review. I am sorry that we haven't responded sooner, but we have been preoccupied by a close friend who is very ill.
With best wishes, Stephen and Kate

"One of the highlights of our trip to Paris this summer was the time we spent with Martine for a wonderful tour that included culture, history, and food! We met at the Place des Victoires by the statue of Louis XIV and from the very first moment we were thrilled that we decided to schedule a tour with Martine. She brought us to several local passages and shared stories and local history that we would never learn on our own. She made reservations in advance at the Grand Colbert, a grand restaurant indeed, where she explained items on the menu and helped us make delicious selections. After our lovely lunch we continued our tour of medieval landmarks, cooking shops, and other local highlights and worked up an appetite to thoroughly enjoy more tasty food! Martine had arranged a tasting at a local cheese shop followed by more treats in a nearby chocolate shop. All this was accompanied by a delicious red wine and brought a wonderful end to a fabulous time with Martine. When you visit Paris, make sure to schedule a tour with her. You'll be glad you did!"
Now we need to return....

I'm finally able to contact you and let you know I arrived in Canada safely. We had a great time and was glad the taxi came to get us. Thanks for everything and enjoy the rest of the summer in your beautiful city of Paris! I miss my time in France already!

Thanks, Martine! We had a great time today. The tours, lunch, cheese, wine, chocolate - and coffee at your place were all fabulous!

We had a wonderful time....... The weather was fine for walking, which we did a lot. The apartment location is so central you can walk in any direction to see most if not all the sites. We sometimes walked one way and took the Metro the other way for farther out places.
In addition, the proximity of restaurants, food stores, etc in Montorgueil offset any rain problems as we never had far to go. We used the quincallerie, pharmacie, newspaper store as well as the grocery store across the street.....all convenient and good.
By the way we did get into Frenchies which was great, as you said it would be.....the Grand Vefour was an experience too. I particularly liked the 'do it yourself' steak tartar(they don't mix it ....you do) at Les Petite Carreaux, plus they have the best frites of all the places we ate and I consider myself an expert having grown up in Quebec that definitely have the best! A nice neighborhood place. Stohers was best for take home food and I even took home one of the rotisserie chickens available in several places....better than ours. Patisseries were all good. We'll be back.....thanks for your hospitality.

Martine's comments :
So happy you enjoyed my recommendations, the district, the apartment.
Thank you for taking care of it, I will welcome you back with pleasure.
Until then, take care and if you have some photos, do not hesitate to share them with us.
Just to say thank you we had a great time in Paris sorry we missed your phone calls . The apartment was lovely and the area was fantastic so much to see . We were invited to Rungis Market by our suppliers so we spent some time there which was very interesting .
Roberta was very nice even helping us with the taxi so please will you say thank you to her . We loved Paris the people are lovely and we have so much more to do and see so if you will have us back we would love to book again and hopefully get to speak to you or even meet up .
Thank you again

Fantastically convenient. Quiet, yet central to major sights, with restaurants and supermarkets close by. Clean and everything works. Ideal for singles who like a little extra space or a couple. Friends who stayed at a hotel paid more and had half the room. Free Wi-Fi excellent and bed very comfy.

We had an enjoyable walking tour with Martine on our trip to Paris in May of 2012.. She was very interested in giving us a personalized tour, and kept in constant touch with us beforehand. She took us to places we probably would not have visited or found, and gave us a lot of history of the area (Le Marais). We felt we learned a lot, and gained an appreciation of that part of Paris. As a contact, I also asked her a lot of questions about Paris, the Metro, and the area around the Louvre where we were renting an apartment. She was happy to respond eventhough the questions had nothing to do with her tour.

We stayed at Martine's lovely apartment in Paris. We were met on arrival with fresh croissants and advice on some things to do and see. Friendly yet professional and ensured we were comfortable and had everything we needed before leaving us to enjoy Paris! Everything was in top order in the apartment, comfortable bed, clean and very French! The location is incredible - wonderful bars and cafes right outside the door and a 10 minute walk to the Louvre and the Seine - just beautiful. Highly recommend

I wanted to thank you again for our wonderful stay in Paris. You have been so helpful to us – from my initial emails with my hundreds of questions, to when you turned up early so that we could meet our train in the morning.
Paris was a highlight of our trip, and we do so hope to return one day.
Again thank you. It really was a pleasure meeting you. When you release your cookbook – please let me know.
Best regards and all our love

If you ever dreamt about visiting the Paris that you have seen in a movie, this is the place to stay. The area is great. One street away is an amazing street where you will find a cheese shop, lots of delis with local produce, fish monger, patisseries, cafes, markets. You will feel like a local shopping in these amazing food shops. The unit is perfect. We stayed for one week, 2 adults and our 15 year old daughter. You did not want for anything. Martine is wonderful and helpful. She was there to meet us and there perfectly on time for us to leave to catch our train (even though it was early morning). She even organised a taxi for us on our final day, and rang during the week to make sure everything was fine. Internet access was a bonus. The only bad thing I have to say about this unit - is that we had to leave and come home!! If ever we are lucky enough to return to Paris, this is the only place I will stay.
David and I have just arrived home from our 5 week European holiday which commenced in Paris.
Thank you for your lovely apartment, we enjoyed our stay immensely and found the apartment to be in a great location and so nice to be away from the noise of a main street, but so close to some lovely restaurants and cafes and to all the sights of Paris.
My apologies for not calling during our stay as I was unable to use my phone too often as the international Sim I had organised proved to be quite expensive. I did try on your phone in the apartment but had no success.
I will gladly recommend your apartment on Sawday's website where I found you and to all our friends thinking of travelling.
I mentioned in my note on leaving the apartment that a folder with all the apartment information would be helpful keeping it all in one place and some instructions in English and perhaps a few other languages for the appliances like the washing machine.
These are only small details and in no way affected our enjoyment of our stay.
We look forward to one day returning to Paris and would love to stay in your apartment again.
Give our best wishes and thanks to Ada who was lovely and most helpful.

Martine's answer to your suggestion :
you are 100% right and I did write a booklet in French and English now.
I am sorry no one spent enough time with you to explain and show you the drawer with all the "how to use" booklets.
When I host personally, I do spend at least 45mn with my guests to explain everything and I now have the booklet in case they could not memorize it all.
it is better for all of us if you know and master all.
from now on, I will be in charge of welcoming my guests personally most of the time.
if you were to come back, I'd be thrilled to get to know you personally.
Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU. We had a wonderful time in Paris and enjoyed our stay very much. Will definately come again sometime soon and will recomend to our friends.
Thank you and best regards

Just to let you know we had a splendid time at your apartment, although to be honest we were not in it very often during the day - so much to see in Paris - but the time we did spend inside was really comfortable and enjoyable. An unexpected highlight was a performance of Mozart's Requiem at Eglise Saint-Eustache with a choir and orchestra totalling 300 performers.
Many thanks and I hope we will have an opportunity to return at a future date.

Michael and I wanted to thank you. We had such a beautiful time in Paris! And we loved your charming apartment!!! We were near every great place. Walked and walked and got around everywhere. Thanks also for your yummy basket :)
Hope to be visiting in the near future. We are happy to recommend your place to all our friends and family. What a gem!

We did not call because we were being real tourists and trying to see everything we could see in four days. We LOVED the apartment and would want to stay there again if we come back. What an
oasis in the heart of busy Paris. I will post reviews later today. Ada was very nice and helpful.
Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your beautiful place.

Just writing to let you know that we had a very enjoyable stay in Paris. The apartment is really lovely and in a great location. We really enjoyed staying there and hope to stay again on another trip to Paris.
The apartment has great facilities and the kitchen is very well equipped. We did think it would be nice to have an ipod docking station and as so many people have ipods these days maybe your other guests would like this too.
Thanks to you and Ada for accommodating our arrival on Thursday. Eilís & Liam UK May 2011
We have returned to the Cévennes after a magical week in Paris and St Germain en Laye (our bride wore a prettier dress than the other, more publicised one...!!), and I write to thank you for the privilege of using your apartment for much of that time.
We were made most welcome by a delightful Ada Brandolani and quickly discovered that not only did your apartment - a real haven of peace - contain everything we needed for a comfortable stay (including sharp kitchen knives, a rarity in a rental property!), but it was also perfectly positioned for everything we wanted to do in central Paris. We walked everywhere - Jardin des Tuileries, Rive Gauche and the Marais district, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of each district we passed through.
On the practical side, the district in which the apartment is situated contains all a human being would reasonably need to bring comfort to body and soul after a hard day's tourism: a super bakery, greengrocery and mini-supermarket, as well as some good restaurants. No big-city anonymity here - we found the area hugely welcoming and fascinating.
In short, a very rewarding trip, which we look forward to repeating when we've earned a few more pennies!
Sarah and I wish you a very happy and successful season in the South-west.
Best wishes. John and Sarah April 2011
We had lovely time in France, and enjoyed the apartment very much. Thank you. It was lovely and homely, and very peaceful and quiet in the middle of a very fun, bustling and convenient location.
Ada was lovely too, really helpful and nice.
Thank you. Fiona, from UK, April 2011
Yes, the journey back was fine. In the end we did not try any of the restaurants nearby - though we did love Stoher and the bakeries. The first night we headed to Lisa's Lebenese it was very good but expensive to us - later in the week we did enjoy a takeaway Lebanese near Les Halles. We went to the pizza place that Ada recommended Golfe di Napoli and we found Cafe Constant by the Eiffel tower which was very good.
We loved the appartment and would love to come again - hopefully next year.
Hope you have a good summer.
Paul & I are trying to stay zen!

I am sorry I' didn't write you sooner. We really enjoyed staying in your apartment, it was perfect, I wouldn't change anything about it.
We didn't have any inconveniences there. We used the TV, the washer dryer and the phone. We didn't use the internet so if there was a problem I wouldn't have any idea.
We cooked every day at least one meal and we found everything we needed. We enjoyed the view of the courtyard from the living room. We enjoyed being so close to everything and at the same time being in a quite, secluded place. The last day I just walked to Les Halles with my two bags to take the RER to the airport.
I would really like to stay in your apartment again. I 'll write to your partners as soon as I can.
Sheila , February 2011
Glad you had a great trip in India. We are also catching up from our trip. We had a wonderful time and the apartment was great. The issue with the TV was no big deal. I think it was weather related and it resolved it self after Roberta left. Roberta was wonderful to deal with. She was able to arrange for the taxi for us since we had to leave so early on Sunday.
Our daughter had a great time and enjoyed all the sights. She is already planning her return trip! I have left a review on the trip advisor site. We would definitely recommend the apartment to others traveling to Paris.

the weather here in Perth is great at the moment, but will probably get much hotter by Christmas.
I haven`t had time since our return to say how much we enjoyed your fantastic apartment. It was so central for everything we wanted to do. It was well equipped and we felt very safe. Many thanks to the lovely Ada for all her help.
Thank-you so much for your kind hospitality while we were in Paris, we’ve told the story to all of our friends about your beautiful little apartment we found almost by chance in the heart of the
Attached are a couple of photos we took while there. We hope you have a very merry festive season!

What makes this cozy apartment so wonderful is the generosity and hospitality of the owner. Too often apartments present a barren kitchen that is the opposite of true hospitality, but Martine's
ideally located Paris apartment has a kitchen that is a delight for anyone who enjoys cooking with the exquisite produce France has to offer. Martine also showers her guests with a wealth of
information about the many restaurants nearby. In short, Martine and her apartment are a treasure!

Well, we are finally home. I have just had a cup of tea from supplies I bought at Dammann Freres in Paris- so have really been thinking of you. When I saw the shop, I was quite excited as I realised it was the one you told me about.
We loved your Paris apartment and the whole area. The apartment is small and I can understand why you can't live in it full time, but it is lovely and has a nice feel to it.I really liked the way you have set up the lounge /kitchen area with such nice pieces of furniture.
We met so many nice, warm French people this trip, that I said to Frank that I didn't expect that in Paris. However, when we arrived and were standing on Rue Etienne Marcel looking at the map, a man came up to us with his 2 little girls and asked if they could help us. He then told us that we had chosen a very nice area of Paris to stay and and wished us a lovely stay- so I was wrong !What a nice beginning!
Really liked Rue Montmartre. Had a lovely meal at LE Tambour- the waiter was so sweet. It was such a good example of a french bistrot. As we ate , I noticed that the wine was from the tiny village we had stayed in in the Medoc.
I didn't get anything to wear to my daughter's wedding, but.had coffee on the top of Le Printemps for the view.
Alors, au revoir pour maintenant.
Gail and Frank.
Thanks, we are having a great time and the strikes have hardly bothered us at all. The metro isn't very tourist-friendly at the moment but we've been using Velib and that's great fun. The flat is comfortable and the location is perfect.
Best wishes, Sue

Carole Martel & Jean Blanchette , prov. Québec, Canada.
My dear Martine,
Do you know, it is the most amazing thing ..... I was planning on writing to you as soon as we got back home in Canada - and when we got home....you had already written to us!!
Our stay went very well indeed. Your apartment was perfect, as indeed, we knew it would be having had coffee with you that morning in January. We loved Paris just as much as we had the first time, and found the Parisians charming and helpful.
We did a lot of walking and of course went back to the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. This time we also went to a lovely early music concert on Friday night in Notre Dame. Good acoustics and excellent music. Our only regret was that every restaurant in the whole city was closed for the August holiday!! Soooo .. we will have to come back....
all our best
Karen & Peter August 2010
Hope you are well
Just a short note to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in your paris apartment.
It was very comfortable and Ada was very helpful.
It is an area we know and like very much and your apartment is so peaceful after a busy day in paris.
We should like to return maybe September 2011 and will be in touch when we have sorted out our dates.
Thank you once again.
Liz and Graham
Yes we had a wonderful time in Paris! Too bad we weren't able to talk on the phone... The apartment was great and we really appreciated the flowers, wine and pastery :) Thank you so much for
that. Also the handover with Ada was smooth and perfect. The apartment had everything we needed.
We found a shuttle bus service from and back to the airport. It is 31 euro for two persons and really easy to use. They picked us up right at the apartment exactly on time. Recommended for your future guests :) Tel: 01 55981080 for reservations (also in english).
Thanks again for making our stay perfect and we will definitely stay there again when we are in Paris :)
All the best,
