Dear Martine

Thank you so much. We had a fabulous last morning in Paris. Our bags were safe and sound. Thank for arranging that as well.

We had a wonderful week. Your apartment is perfect for us. The location could not be more perfect. We only took one taxi and no metro the entire time (and that included walking to and from Montmartre)

Paris remains one of the World s greatest cities

Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Jill and David, Toronto Canada August 2014

Thank you for your kind words, Martine! We have come to think of the apartment as our Paris home and you as our special Paris friend. Any planning for future trips to Paris will revolve around availability of the apartment! We're home, unpacked, ...I have a pot of potato soup on...

The young man at Stohrer was a charmer.

Included too is a copy of the card from the restaurant we spoke of near Notre Dame. We had a gourmet meal beautifully presented and I would certainly recommend it.

As soon as I'm over jet lag I will write for Trip Advisor.

Bonsoir Martine,

Good Morning, Martine!   Mark and I are both back at work this morning, sadly without our morning tartines and café crèmes.  What a wonderful week it was-we can’t thank you enough.  Really, dinner with you on Saturday night was the very best part-not only was your food spectacular, but the conversation was a pure pleasure!  It has taken its place in our top favorite dinners of all time (what kind of people keep such a list?!)  Thank you also for sending the picture, I was regretting on the flights home yesterday that I didn’t have some pictures to remember the evening . Mark’s forgotten clothing definitely represent a subconscious wish to return!   We made it home safely, and all was well at home.  Thank you for everything, we are already plotting our return!

It was a true pleasure meeting you. Paris, like the few very special things in life, was better than we remembered. The people, the fashions, the food, and the joie de vivre are unsurpassed. What made it even better was meeting you and having such a wonderful dinner together. The evening was the highlight of our trip; filled with great food and conversation.
Have a nice spring, à la prochaine,

"Highly recommended."

Fantastically convenient. Quiet, yet central to major sights, with restaurants and supermarkets close by. Clean and everything works. Ideal for singles who like a little extra space or a couple. Friends who stayed at a hotel paid more and had half the room. Free Wi-Fi excellent and bed very comfy.

Chere Madame,
Just to let you know we had a splendid time at your apartment, although to be honest we were not in it very often during the day - so much to see in Paris - but the time we did spend inside was really comfortable and enjoyable. An unexpected highlight was a performance of Mozart's Requiem at Eglise Saint-Eustache with a choir and orchestra totalling 300 performers.
Many thanks and I hope we will have an opportunity to return at a future date.
Derek June 2011.

Dear Martine,
Michael and I wanted to thank you. We had such a beautiful time in Paris! And we loved your charming apartment!!! We were near every great place. Walked and walked and got around everywhere. Thanks also for your yummy basket :)
Hope to be visiting in the near future. We are happy to recommend your place to all our friends and family. What a gem!
Big hug to you,
Michael and Patricia, New York USA June 2011

We did not call because we were being real tourists and trying to see everything we could see in four days. We LOVED the apartment and would want to stay there again if we come back. What an oasis in the heart of busy Paris. I will post reviews later today. Ada was very nice and helpful.
Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your beautiful place.

Just writing to let you know that we had a very enjoyable stay in Paris. The apartment is really lovely and in a great location. We really enjoyed staying there and hope to stay again on another trip to Paris.
The apartment has great facilities and the kitchen is very well equipped. We did think it would be nice to have an ipod docking station and as so many people have ipods these days maybe your other guests would like this too.
Thanks to you and Ada for accommodating our arrival on Thursday.

Dear Martine,
We have returned to the Cévennes after a magical week in Paris and St Germain en Laye (our bride wore a prettier dress than the other, more publicised one...!!), and I write to thank you for the privilege of using your apartment for much of that time.
We were made most welcome by a delightful Ada Brandolani and quickly discovered that not only did your apartment - a real haven of peace - contain everything we needed for a comfortable stay (including sharp kitchen knives, a rarity in a rental property!), but it was also perfectly positioned for everything we wanted to do in central Paris. We walked everywhere - Jardin des Tuileries, Rive Gauche and the Marais district, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of each district we passed through.
On the practical side, the district in which the apartment is situated contains all a human being would reasonably need to bring comfort to body and soul after a hard day's tourism: a super bakery, greengrocery and mini-supermarket, as well as some good restaurants. No big-city anonymity here - we found the area hugely welcoming and fascinating.
In short, a very rewarding trip, which we look forward to repeating when we've earned a few more pennies!
Sarah and I wish you a very happy and successful season in the South-west.
Best wishes

Hi Martine,
We had lovely time in France, and enjoyed the apartment very much. Thank you. It was lovely and homely, and very peaceful and quiet in the middle of a very fun, bustling and convenient location.
Ada was lovely too, really helpful and nice.
Thank you,
Fiona, from UK, April 2011

Yes, the journey back was fine. In the end we did not try any of the restaurants nearby - though we did love Stoher and the bakeries. The first night we headed to Lisa's Lebenese it was very good but expensive to us - later in the week we did enjoy a takeaway Lebanese near Les Halles. We went to the pizza place that Ada recommended Golfe di Napoli and we found Cafe Constant by the Eiffel tower which was very good.
We loved the appartment and would love to come again - hopefully next year.
Hope you have a good summer.
Paul & I are trying to stay zen!
Best wishes
Sandy; April 2011

Hello Martine,
I am sorry I' didn't write you sooner. We really enjoyed staying in your apartment, it was perfect, I wouldn't change anything about it.
We didn't have any inconveniences there. We used the TV, the washer dryer and the phone. We didn't use the internet so if there was a problem I wouldn't have any idea.
We cooked every day at least one meal and we found everything we needed. We enjoyed the view of the courtyard from the living room. We enjoyed being so close to everything and at the same time being in a quite, secluded place. The last day I just walked to Les Halles with my two bags to take the RER to the airport.
I would really like to stay in your apartment again. I 'll write to your partners as soon as I can.

Sheila , February 2011

Hi Martine,
Glad you had a great trip in India. We are also catching up from our trip. We had a wonderful time and the apartment was great. The issue with the TV was no big deal. I think it was weather related and it resolved it self after Roberta left. Roberta was wonderful to deal with. She was able to arrange for the taxi for us since we had to leave so early on Sunday.
Our daughter had a great time and enjoyed all the sights. She is already planning her return trip! I have left a review on the trip advisor site. We would definitely recommend the apartment to others traveling to Paris.
Thanks again,
Felicia; Mark and their daughter February 2011

the weather here in Perth is great at the moment, but will probably get much hotter by Christmas.
I haven`t had time since our return to say how much we enjoyed your fantastic apartment. It was so central for everything we wanted to do. It was well equipped and we felt very safe. Many thanks to the lovely Ada for all her help.
Happy Christmas

Thank-you so much for your kind hospitality while we were in Paris, we’ve told the story to all of our friends about your beautiful little apartment we found almost by chance in the heart of the city.
Attached are a couple of photos we took while there. We hope you have a very merry festive season!
Kind Regards,
Rach & Dave, September 2010

What makes this cozy apartment so wonderful is the generosity and hospitality of the owner. Too often apartments present a barren kitchen that is the opposite of true hospitality, but Martine's ideally located Paris apartment has a kitchen that is a delight for anyone who enjoys cooking with the exquisite produce France has to offer. Martine also showers her guests with a wealth of information about the many restaurants nearby. In short, Martine and her apartment are a treasure!

Bonjour Martine,
Well, we are finally home. I have just had a cup of tea from supplies I bought at Dammann Freres in Paris- so have really been thinking of you. When I saw the shop, I was quite excited as I realised it was the one you told me about.
We loved your Paris apartment and the whole area. The apartment is small and I can understand why you can't live in it full time, but it is lovely and has a nice feel to it.I really liked the way you have set up the lounge /kitchen area with such nice pieces of furniture.
We met so many nice, warm French people this trip, that I said to Frank that I didn't expect that in Paris. However, when we arrived and were standing on Rue Etienne Marcel looking at the map, a man came up to us with his 2 little girls and asked if they could help us. He then told us that we had chosen a very nice area of Paris to stay and and wished us a lovely stay- so I was wrong !What a nice beginning!
Really liked Rue Montmartre. Had a lovely meal at LE Tambour- the waiter was so sweet. It was such a good example of a french bistrot. As we ate , I noticed that the wine was from the tiny village we had stayed in in the Medoc.
I didn't get anything to wear to my daughter's wedding, but.had coffee on the top of Le Printemps for the view.
Alors, au revoir pour maintenant.
Gail and Frank.

Hi Martine,
Thanks, we are having a great time and the strikes have hardly bothered us at all. The metro isn't very tourist-friendly at the moment but we've been using Velib and that's great fun. The flat is comfortable and the location is perfect.
Best wishes, Sue

Bonjour Martine,

Carole Martel & Jean Blanchette , prov. Québec, Canada.

My dear Martine,
Do you know, it is the most amazing thing ..... I was planning on writing to you as soon as we got back home in Canada - and when we got had already written to us!!
Our stay went very well indeed. Your apartment was perfect, as indeed, we knew it would be having had coffee with you that morning in January. We loved Paris just as much as we had the first time, and found the Parisians charming and helpful.
We did a lot of walking and of course went back to the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. This time we also went to a lovely early music concert on Friday night in Notre Dame. Good acoustics and excellent music. Our only regret was that every restaurant in the whole city was closed for the August holiday!! Soooo .. we will have to come back....
all our best

Dear Martinne,

Hope you are well
Just a short note to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in your paris apartment.
It was very comfortable and Ada was very helpful.
It is an area we know and like very much and your apartment is so peaceful after a busy day in paris.
We should like to return maybe September 2011 and will be in touch when we have sorted out our dates.
Thank you once again.

Liz and Graham Griffiths

Yes we had a wonderful time in Paris! Too bad we weren't able to talk on the phone... The apartment was great and we really appreciated the flowers, wine and pastery :) Thank you so much for that. Also the handover with Ada was smooth and perfect. The apartment had everything we needed.
We found a shuttle bus service from and back to the airport. It is 31 euro for two persons and really easy to use. They picked us up right at the apartment exactly on time. Recommended for your future guests :) Tel:             01 55981080       for reservations (also in english).
Thanks again for making our stay perfect and we will definitely stay there again when we are in Paris :)
All the best,

Many thanks for Paul's present it was very kind of you and we enjoyed it all.
It was a long journey home but a wonderful holiday that we will always remember.
I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Hi Martine,
We are unfortunately back to work today after a lovely week in Paris. We were thrilled by the flat, lovely and clean, quiet and comfortable, and the location was just excellent. We were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to go and picked up some lovely food from Rue Montorgueil nearby to eat there. Ada was lovely and got us set up quickly when we arrived, so please thank her again for us.
If we are lucky enough to spend time again in Paris we will definitely check availability of you flat.
Many kind regards,
Karen UK March 22nd 2010

Just to let you know all went well and we enjoyed ourselves.
The appartment is in a great location and the proximity to all services is very handy.
We have walked a lot, eaten very well and shopped 'til we dropped on rue Montorgueil.
I just love the Oliviers and Co shop.
We went to the Orangerie to see the new arrangement of the interior and the paintings of course and also to the Pinacotheque de Paris place de la Madeleine to see the Dutch exhibition.Well worth a visit!
A bientot,

"Martine's apartment in Paris is a beautifully appointed apartment nestled in a quiet court yard, yet once you step out you are greeted by a vibrant and interesting neighborhood. We felt so taken care of - our needs were promptly and graciously attended to by Roberta who looks after Martine's place. She was there to welcome us and responsive when problems or questions arose.
Christine, and Lou ( California)"

"The overall grade should be 10 out of 5, a lovely apartment superbly located just a stone's throw from everything. We bought a Paris Visit card but did not use it as we walked everywhere! The apartment exceeded our expectations, wonderfully clean, everything that you could possibly need in the kitchen, a really comfortable bed, really well laid out apartment with a welcoming feel. In the centre of it all but nice and peaceful. We were met by Roberta who was most kind and really well informed on the area (thank you Roberta). We have already recommended it to our friends who visited us during the week and are hoping to book it again next year!"

"The apartment on rue d'argout is beautifully situated on the ground floor, facing onto a courtyard and in one of Paris' most charming quartiers. There are excellent restaurants, stores, galleries and museums, all within walking distance. The apartment itself is small but ideal for two people. It is newly renovated and equipped with all the necessities, including a washer and dryer, TV, computer access, and free telephone service to Europe and North America. We enjoyed our stay of two months there enormously."
Renwick and Robert, Canada

"The apartment was fantastic. It was clean, cute and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, a very short walk to the Louvre and L'Orangerie. We walked nearly everywhere, but had easy Metro access when we had a little farther to go or were on a deadline. The neighborhood was great and had several restaurants and shops but the apartment itself was in a quiet courtyard.
Also, it was great having the washer and dryer in the unit, as we were on a long trip and were able to leave with all clean clothes. We had some travel difficulties due to the Chunnel and arrived late, but Roberta was very gracious in meeting with us when we were able to arrive and provided valuable information about the area. We will continue to recommend this option to friends who are traveling to Paris. We only had 4 days, but I think it would be even better for a longer stay and will definitely check availability next time I go to Paris.
One thing that many people told us was an issue for them was that many places won't rent for fewer than 5-7 days. So they were interested when we said we were able to rent your place for 4 days.
Sincerely, Debbie and Louis (US)"
